1. Who we are
Pickup is a call routing service operated by Aberle Co. (hello@pickup.bot). We help families share incoming calls from schools, daycares, and pediatricians between two caregivers.
2. What we collect and why
Account information
- Caregiver names and mobile phone numbers
- Screened caller names and phone numbers
Call data
- Call history — who called, when, who answered, how long the call lasted, whether it went to voicemail.
- Voicemail recordings — used to generate a text summary, then retained for up to 30 days so you can replay the audio if needed. After 30 days, audio is automatically deleted from our servers and from Twilio's.
- Voicemail transcripts and AI summaries — stored and delivered to both caregivers via iMessage.
Technical data
- Session tokens — used to keep you logged in to your account.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect health or medical records.
- We do not record live calls (only voicemails, and only temporarily).
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect browsing history or device identifiers.
- We do not create advertising profiles.
4. A note on sensitive content
Pickup may be used to receive calls from school nurses, pediatricians, or other healthcare-adjacent contacts. The content of these calls is private family communication. We treat all call content — including voicemail transcripts — as private and confidential. We do not analyze, share, or use this content for any purpose other than delivering it to your authorized caregivers.
5. Who we share data with
We use the following third-party services to operate Pickup:
- Twilio — handles phone call routing and voicemail recording.
- SendBlue — delivers iMessage notifications to caregivers.
- OpenAI — voicemail audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper service for transcription. OpenAI does not use API data to train models.
- Anthropic — voicemail transcripts are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for summarization. Anthropic does not use API data to train models.
- Railway — our hosting provider.
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers.
6. Data retention
- Account information is retained as long as your account is active.
- Call history is retained for 12 months then automatically deleted.
- Voicemail audio is retained for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted. Voicemail summaries are retained for 12 months.
- Voicemail transcripts and summaries are retained for 12 months.
- When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days.
7. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access the data we hold about your family.

Terms of Service
Pickup · pickup.bot · Last updated: May 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Pickup ("we," "us," or "our") is a call routing service operated by Aberle Co. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of pickup.bot and any related apps, services, or features (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using Pickup in any way, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Pickup.
2. Who can use Pickup
Pickup is intended for use by adults (18 or older) acting as caregivers for one or more minor children, or by adult caregivers coordinating care responsibilities with each other. By using Pickup, you confirm:
- You are 18 or older.
- You have the legal authority to provide phone numbers and personal information for any co-caregiver you add to your account.
- You have notified your co-caregiver that you are adding them to Pickup, and they consent to receiving messages and calls through the Service.
- You have authority to share the phone numbers of screened callers (e.g., schools, doctors' offices) for the purpose of routing their calls.
3. What Pickup does
Pickup assigns your family a phone number. When that number is called by someone you've authorized as a "screened caller," Pickup notifies both you and your co-caregiver simultaneously via iMessage and (where available) push notification. Either caregiver can answer the call directly on their phone. If neither caregiver answers within a short hold period, the caller is sent to voicemail. Voicemail audio is transcribed and summarized by AI services and the summary is sent to both caregivers.
Pickup is a software service that depends on third-party telephony and messaging infrastructure (including Twilio, SendBlue, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Railway). The reliability of the Service depends on those third parties operating normally, on your mobile carrier delivering messages, and on your devices receiving them.
4. Not for emergencies
Pickup is not an emergency service and should never be used as a substitute for emergency communication. Do not rely on Pickup to receive calls about urgent medical, safety, or life-threatening situations. Always provide schools, doctors, and other important contacts with at least one direct phone number for each caregiver, in addition to any Pickup number. In a true emergency, dial 911 (or your local emergency number).
5. Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including caregiver names and phone numbers. You're responsible for any activity that occurs on your account. You agree to:
- Keep your account information accurate and up to date.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
- Not share your magic-link login URL with anyone other than your authorized co-caregivers.
- Promptly remove or update any caregiver or screened caller who should no longer be receiving Pickup notifications.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Pickup to:
- Harass, threaten, defraud, or harm any person.
- Route calls or messages without proper authority (e.g., adding someone as a caregiver who has not consented).
- Violate any applicable law, including but not limited to telecommunications, privacy, or anti-spam regulations.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass technical or security measures of the Service.
- Use Pickup for commercial call screening, customer support, sales operations, or any business purpose beyond personal family use.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer access to the Service.
We may suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is violating these rules.
7. SMS and call communications
By providing your phone number and consenting at signup, you authorize Pickup to send you text messages and route phone calls related to your account. Message frequency depends on call volume. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any Pickup message, or by contacting hello@pickup.bot. Opting out of texts may significantly limit Pickup's ability to function for you, since text notifications are the primary way Pickup alerts you to incoming calls.
8. Privacy
Your use of Pickup is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described there.
9. Voicemail and call content
Pickup records voicemails left by your screened callers and uses AI services to generate text summaries. Voicemail audio is retained for up to 30 days and then automatically deleted. Voicemail transcripts and summaries are retained for up to 12 months as part of your call history. We do not use call or voicemail content for any purpose other than delivering the Service to you. We never sell call content to anyone. See the Privacy Policy for details on third-party processing.
10. Service changes and availability
Pickup is provided on an ongoing basis but may experience interruptions, errors, or delays from time to time. We do not guarantee that every call notification or voicemail will be delivered successfully or on time. We may modify, suspend, add, or remove features of the Service at any time, with or without notice. If we make a material change that significantly affects how Pickup works for you, we will make a reasonable effort to notify active users.
11. Fees and paid features
Pickup may offer free tiers and paid tiers (e.g., "Pickup Premium") with different features and limits. Pricing and feature availability may change. If you subscribe to a paid tier, the terms of your subscription (including billing, renewal, refunds, and cancellation) will be made clear at the time of purchase. Paid subscriptions are billed through the platform where you signed up (such as Apple's App Store) and are subject to that platform's billing terms in addition to these Terms.
12. Termination
You can stop using Pickup and delete your account at any time through the /account page or by emailing hello@pickup.bot. When you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Pickup if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would create undue risk to us or other users.
13. Disclaimers
PICKUP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR RELIABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT ANY CALL OR MESSAGE WILL BE DELIVERED SUCCESSFULLY OR ON TIME.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL PICKUP, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions don't allow limitations of liability of this kind, so portions of these limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pickup, Aberle Co., and their affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, or (d) any content or information you provide to Pickup, including phone numbers and names of co-caregivers or screened callers.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in St. Louis County, Missouri, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
You agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at hello@pickup.bot. We'll respond in good faith and try to resolve the issue without litigation.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify active users (by iMessage, email, or in-app notice) and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Pickup after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Miscellaneous
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms (along with our Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and Pickup regarding the Service.
You can't transfer or assign your rights under these Terms without our written permission. We can assign our rights to a successor (for example, in a business sale).
